Chair Cover W3: One outdoor chair, left out through winter with the cover on. — 1 · The item

A seam sealed underneath with a continuous strip of heat-applied tape over the stitch line. — 2 · Seam and vents
Taped seam. The tape covers the needle holes and is the part that ages first.

A circular mesh vent set into marine canvas, with a brass rim, a fine mesh screen and a storm flap stitched above it. — 3 · The vent
Mesh vent with a storm flap. Air leaves, rain does not come straight in.

Cross-section through the coated fabric. Water stops at the coating. It does not stop at a needle hole, which is why the seam treatment above matters as much as the number below.

This is a cover. It is not safety equipment, and it will not hold a boat in place. Check your mooring and your straps separately.

Measure before you order. A cover that is too tight tears at the corners, and one that is too loose flogs in the wind and wears itself out. How to measure.

Everything we know about this item

The figures, and where each one stops being true.

Water column

3,000 mm

EN 20811, hydrostatic head.

3,000 mm with taped seams and a vent. On a chair the fabric almost never fails first; the hem does, where it drags on the ground.

Seam treatment

Taped

The stitch line is sealed on the underside with heat-applied tape. The needle holes are covered. The tape itself is the part that ages first, and it can lift after several seasons of flexing.

Vents and condensation

Vented

This cover has vents. Air moves through, so the moisture that comes off the covered object can leave instead of sitting against it.

Fastening and wind

Drawcord

Fastened at every point and tensioned evenly, this cover stays where you put it in ordinary weather. Loose fabric flogs and wears itself out; over-tight fabric tears at the corners. We cannot give you a wind speed it survives, because that depends on how you fastened it and what it is over.

Care

Do not machine wash
